It was good to see them again! They just arrived here last March 3 or 4 and stayed here until March 10. They provided workshops about deaf and hard of hearing issues, faculty trainings, and others. The PEN Multimedia Learning Center was donated by Nippon Foundation and PEN-Inernational last two year before the new PEN Learning Center was set this 2006. We greatly appreciate the supports of those people from NTID and Japan.
Two places (PEN - MLC and PEN LC) are very useful and accessible to the deaf students and faculties who are in needs. They are nicely furnished and well-decorated. Therefore, those places seem comfortable for people who access to use computers while teaching, studying, reading, tutoring, and the life.
Those people from Rochester, New York are familiar to me. I know my old classmates and schoolmates. The American professionals are newcomers. They mus hear my name since people out there talk to them about me when I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology. They seem very pleased.
They must be very busy doing their workshops that Filipino people here need to acknowledge more about deaf cultures, deaf needs, dialects, parents of deaf children, and many other issues to discuss and share.
In other words, the four young NTID students just went to Boracay Beach along with 5 Filipino College of Saint Benilde graduates who guided to that place to enjoy the Filipino beach and stuff. They must be independent. I am sure they would be stressed out with Filipino cultures they have faced.
Well, I would end here since my body is deadly tiring.
